UK Projects
At the Rose Education Foundation we believe that there are many young people within our own country who need help to integrate fully and actively into society.
The foundation was begun as a celebration of the short but meaningful life of Emma, our daughter. It was one of her greatest passions to see young peoples lives changed and enhanced particularly in the North East.
As a response to this, part of our funds are allocated to Christian groups or church based organisations seeking to make a difference to the lives of 11-18 year olds in the North East of England.
If you are part of such a group which is reaching out to the community, we may be able to help you set up new projects or sustain existing projects.

Our mission is to provide under-privileged children with an opportunity to gain the lifelong gift of education. Founded on the belief that education is the key to breaking the poverty cycle and taking control of one’s own life, we currently focus our efforts in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Nigeria, Mozambique and Malaysia.

Thailand
Rahab Ministries – Bangkok, Thailand
This is a project to help young girls caught in the prostitution trap by giving them training in traditional Thai massage, beauty and hairdressing. They are also working to combat this problem at the source through working in the northern villages. The main problem is in providing school meals. We will aim to provide 30 children with free school meals throughout the term of their schooling. The cost of this is £250 per child per year.

This school, houses, teaches, feeds and clothes the boys. They are now at capacity and wish to build another building to house 40 more boys already identified as orphans and are living on the streets in Colombo.
The cost of this new building is £17,000 and the cost of looking after the boys is about £750 per year.

Nigeria
Prospect School and College – Ibadan, Nigeria
This project is led by the Soteria Trust chaired by Andy Economedies and J John. They started with a junior school which has been running for 12 years and they are now developing a vocational training college. This will give the young people much needed skills to enable them to earn a decent standard of living.
Your donations will support the development of the new vocational college and will also provide scholarships for both children to attend the school and for teenagers to attend the Prospect College.
Sponsorship for educational purposes is only £19 per month and will give a life changing experience to these young people in Nigeria.
The Rose Education Foundation aims to:
• provide 50 scholarships
• donate £5000 worth of Books to the new college
• provide 3 international scholarships for students to take up Higher Education or training in the UK.
